Who is Responsible?
As with all health and safety it is everyones responsibility to be aware and responsible for their own and others safety. The legislation however puts specific responsibilities on employers in some areas
Every employer has to ensure that work equipment is suitable for the purpose for which it is provided, only used in the place and under the provisions for which it is provided. It also requires every employer to ensure work equipment be maintained and kept fit and suitable for its intended purpose. This means that regular, routine and planned maintenance regimes must be considered.
Particular emphasis is placed on managers, Directors and Business Owners for their areas of responsibility to ensure complinace with H&S legislation, including the safety of electrical equipment. Regular PAT testing ensures compliance with those regulations
