PAT testing for hotels
A hotel has electrical equipment behind reception, in staff areas and across guest rooms that may be occupied at different times. City PAT helps hotel teams plan portable appliance checks with guest experience and day-to-day operations in mind.

Room-by-room access without guesswork
Share the number of rooms, typical occupancy pattern and a contact for housekeeping or operations. Agree which areas can be accessed during a visit, how occupied rooms will be handled and where any follow-up access may be needed. Back-of-house kitchens, laundry areas, meeting rooms and reception often require a different plan from guest bedrooms. The condition and use of an item matter more than its label alone. A guest-room lamp and equipment that is moved or exposed to moisture should not automatically receive the same checking schedule. The appropriate mix of user checks, visual inspection and testing follows the risk and the condition found on site.
Records that help your team act
Keep item records by room or area, with defects easy to pass to maintenance. Remove unsafe items from use and arrange the next action. If you are reviewing wider premises safety, City PAT also lists fixed wiring inspection, fire alarm testing, emergency lighting and extinguisher servicing as separate services that can be discussed in the same enquiry.
Can we test only rooms that are vacant on the day?
Access can be planned around occupancy, but agree a way to capture rooms missed during the initial visit.
